Okay we have only been to two races this season, so... I don't think the points race is a concern.

Thanks!

Drivers and Car Numbers

So, if a driver changes car and class mid-season, should they run the same number as previous, or a new number (different car), or does it matter?

79 Triumph Spitfire class

I think I have my uncle's "new" car narrowed down to FSP or GP. 1979 Spitfire. 1500 original engine. Weber DGV carb. Headers. Interior was shot, so its been gutted. 4 point roll bar installed. Fuel Cell, bulkhead, non-factory mount seats racing seats installed. 5 point harnesses installed. Any input...

Well, it does appear that a 350 was an option on the car so, I guess I have more reading to do...

Engine Swap

Does an engine swap, keeping the same manufacturer, but larger displacement automatically put the car into SM? It seems like that is what I get from the rules.

1992 Firebird Formula (came with 305 FI) swapped for carb 350 is the car in question.

Thanks for all the help, at least it looks like with SMF there is quite a bit more I can do with the car and not change classes. :D

Thanks, I am almost certain that the front body panel / bumper is not stock, so it sounds like I will be firmly in DSP.

I will continue to read up on the allowances and see if I notice anything else.

Can't tell if seats are replaced. They have manual lumbar adjustments are entire interior is leather trimmed, matches door panels and back seats.

It is SI trim package according to the VIN.

95 Honda Prelude The only non-stock things I can say for sure are: cold air intake. 8 inch wide wheels, 17 inch. 205/40/17 tires (one odd-ball 215/50/17) I can't tell if the front end is body kit replaced, or just had chrome wire put behind the vents. Body work height is above the stock ride height ...

Also, does the helmet type matter? (Full face, dirt bike, open face) I have motorcycle helmets of all types that go clear back to M95 and as I am going through then it gives me a chance to get rid of anything that won't work and determine for the number of drivers we hope to have, that everyone has ...

It sounds like it already has a cold air intake, and possibly been lowered so I think I will be moving up classes no matter what. Fortunately, I don't think that anything is missing or it has been raced previously, but this will be our first outing and I am sure I will need all the help I can get!

Helmets

Are Snell M2000 helmets okay for autocrossing?

I assume that the visors are not needed if you are inside a car with a windshield...

Thanks,
