iracing
I joined iracing a few months ago, and plan to get more serious now the solo season is over. Is anyone else from omr a iracing member? If so, send me a friend request. JasonMulkey3 is my user name. SCCA members get 1/2 off a year membership. Come join me iracing!

C rating, infrequent participation. it is good fun, i should do it more. especially over the winter to keep sharp, or at least a little.
Jason, see you on there maybe.

I've been thinking about getting into iracing, but I'm just not convinced about the membership fees. Is the depth worth it (not initial, but expansion content like the custom tracks and cars)??? It just doesn't seem like you get much to run straight out of the box, so it seems like it may not be worth it unless you are planning to go full in on one of their race series.
I have been playing Live For Speed for years though, and have a pretty solid driving rig:

If you use SCCA promo you get 2 mx5's, a solstice, a spec racer ford, a legends car, and a street stock car. Tracks are $15 each, but a series spends a full week at each track. I've purchased 1 car (F2000) and 5 tracks. iRacing has promos and discounts now & then, 1/2 off a year on black friday, i would think xmas might be next. I like your sim rig. Is it store bought or home made?

It was built by a guy down in Fort Smith. I picked it up from a friend of mine who actually had it built so I kind of lucked out on time and cost We actually have a second G25 here at the house, and one of my neighbors has a store bought rig with a G27 so we occasionally have racing LAN parties here at the house.mulkio wrote:If you use SCCA promo you get 2 mx5's, a solstice, a spec racer ford, a legends car, and a street stock car. Get ready for a future where 8-year-olds have better race craft than guys with a huge investment in car, schooling, entry fees...

Looks like fun. Too bad real cars use all the time and money I could spend on sim racing.
