All you autox's out there should come and give this a try, you'll love it!!!
"Do you ever experience frustration because you never get the opportunity
to open-up your high performance car the way you know it can perform? At
Hallett Motor Racing Circuit we have the answer for you and your car.
May 29-30 we are having an event for High Speed Touring cars. ANY
street-legal car (no SUVs, trucks, vans) can be driven on track without
the normal race prep (roll cage, race restraint harness, driver suits are
NOT required.) You need no prior competition driving experience for
this safety-first, non-race, but incredibly fun, event. If it is your first time
on track, you go through Driver Education classes with experienced
instructors (who will ride with you if you ask).
Here is what you need: 1. a Snell approved safety helmet (we have some for
rent if you don't have one), a long-sleeved shirt and long pants, and comfortable
shoes. 2. $120 cash, MC or Visa for the track time and $30 for the DE (first-timers).
BTW, if you drive both days, you get a $40 discount on the second day!!!
This is a super bargain for a major road-racing venue. You can get an HST license
if you want, but we are waiving that fee for this special May event.
Here is what you get: 1. a great day to put all stress aside, replacing it with
exciting fun. 2. The opportunity to run your car at full speed with no chance of getting
a speeding ticket. 3. Corner workers with line of sight wherever you might be driving,
fire truck, wrecker, ambulance, etc. - rarely used, but there for your safety.
If you belong to a Car Club, consider making this a Club event. We have a
great Finish Line Cafe, a playground for the kids, restrooms and showers for the
campers, beautiful Osage Hills to enjoy, and a 1.8 mile TRACK with amazing
corners and elevation changes. www.hallettracing.com

These are great events and Hallet a neat track. COMA a good organization. However it is not an SCCA event or sanction and there is a difference.
SCCA has something similar/identicle in the form of High Speed Touring events. These are done at Heartland Park in Topeka....Gateway in St. Louis has a great program, available elsewhere as well. Because these are SCCA sanctioned and because they are in conjunction with a Club racing event, you would get the same safety crews, corner crews, SCCA sanction and insurance benefits as the club racers. Your instructor will probably be competing door to door that same weekend, and you'll have the opportunity to hang with some of our local guys with purpose built race cars as well.
Fun either way. However if you have an SCCA membership, why not put it to good use. SCCA track events are first class, and worth considering. You can find these events on the MiDiv calendar link on the front page of our website, or on the calendar published in Sportscar magazine.
