I am still very new to this, so I will ask. How does the point system work inside the OMR? How many points or events do you have to attend/win to qualify as a class winner?
I have never caught on to this so if someone would help I would be enlightened.
I am thinking very hard about being more competitve this year- even with all the additoins to my class, so I want to be sure I understand it.
Thanks, and again thanks OMR for all the great time.

Just a rule of thumb as these thing are always subject to change if events get canceled or other circumstances, but for the last couple of years we have tried to schedule 8 events for our season. So out of these 8 events you will drop your 2 lowest scores for points.
Points are awarded as follows:
1st place=15pts
2nd place=12pts
3rd place=10pts
4th place=8tps
5th place=6pts
6th place=5pts
7th place=4pts
8th place=3pts
9th place=2pts
10th place and lower=1pt
So lets give the example that we run 8 OMR regional points scoring events in 2010. Say you make 7 events have 3 1st places, 3 2nd places, and a 3rd. You will "drop" the DNS and the 3rd place as they are your 2 lowest points scores. You will get 45 points for the 1st places and 36pts for the 2nd places for a total score of 81.
I hope this helps.
