The 24 National Championship races will be run Friday through Sunday. You can keep tabs on your favorite driver or class by following the "live timing & scoring" feed. Go to www.scca.com then click on the "MORE" tab under the info titled "2010 SCCA National Championship Runoffs" on the upper right hand part of the page. Clicking the "MORE" tab will give you a menu on which you can find "Live Timing & Scoring."
I haven't seen a detailed schedule for the three days of races, but it appears that Spec Miata will run midday Friday (Sept 24,) A Sedan runs Saturday (Sept 25) morning, Formula A is on track midday Saturday, and H Production races Saturday afternoon. Sunday (Sept 26) finds GT2 running in the morning and F Production running in the afternoon.
If you are computer savvy and have powerful enough equipment, you can watch a live video feed of the races all three days. Go to www.speedcasttv.com/SCCA Whether there is a fee for this service I do not know.

220am and I just pulled in from spectating at the runoffs. OMR should be very proud of it's racing competitors. They all put on a great show.
Chris Brannon looked great hustling his GTO around in ASedan vs. the lighter Camaro and Mustang pony cars. I am not sure how he finished.
Unfortuneatly I was also unable to see Shane's race.
Crispin Beaver was very fast in GT2. He ran as high as 4th or 5th in his tubeframe RX7 before slowing in the last few minutes and ending up 10th. Not sure what happened. Crispin turned the 4th fastest race lap, at over 100mph average, in a class dominated by Porsche Cup Cars.
Jack Shultz took some time to learn the track and didn't qualify well. However he finished 9th in Hproduction. I was very impressed with all the cars he passed during the race even before he confessed that the gas peddle had broken in the early going. Jack was reaching up to press the throttle linkage directly for much of the race. He looked smooth and fast despite this challenge and scored a top 10 finish.
On Friday Sam Henry had a tough SM race because 1/2 or more of the race was under full course yellow (imagine that with SM?). He still managed to pass several cars although I would have to look up his finishing position. This was a huge field of 60+ cars entered.
Sunday afternoon Sam took the Fprod Miata he had qualified 14th and ran it all the way up to a 5th place finish. Really a fantastic result for Sam and his crew partner Matt Longpine who wrenched on the car all week and all season. A top 5 finish at the runoffs is a HUGE accomplishment and should impress anyone familiar with the national championship runoff race and the F production class.

Historical Note
While surfing through various racers' forums on the web, I came across these tidbits.....
The all-time fastest qualifying lap at Road America by a club racer was set by Steve Forrer of Milwaukee who posted a 2:01.607 with his rebodied Ralt RT41 in Q2 for the C Sports Racing class.
The all-time fastest race lap at Road America by a club racer was set by David Wilcox, Derby, KS, who ran a 2:02.400 in his Swift 014 in the Formula A race.
FA, CSR and DSR are club racing's fastest classes. Here is a comparison of pole times and fastest race laps.
CSR
Pole Time - 2:01.607 - Steve Forrer, Milwaukee, WI - Ralt RT41
Fast Race Lap - 2:02.635 - Jacek Mucha, Laval, Quebec - Swift JMS 05 CP (4th Place)
FA
Pole Time - 2:02.476 - Keith Grant, Germantown, TN - Swift 014
Fast Race Lap - 2:02.400 - David Wilcox, Derby, KS - Swift 014 (1st Place)
DSR
Pole Time - 2:02.901 - Chris Farrell, Salt Lake City, UT - Stohr WF1
Fast Race Lap - 2:03.769 - Michael Scully, Calabasas, CA - Stohr WF-Zero (3rd Place)
Those times translate to average speeds in the 117 mph range.

translation. their average speed is equal to the top speed I see in the spec miata which seems pretty fast... flat out through the kink in 5th will test you...Ted Wells wrote: Those times translate to average speeds in the 117 mph range.
That was a fun week. Unplanned trip but when a friend needs parts you do crazy stuff like drive straight thru from little rock to wisconsin and arrive at 5:30 tuesday morning. Then unfortunately he got hit in the first lap causing the first round of SM mayhem.
Miatas. Lots of them. Nearly every flavor. Lots of mods to some. Not much to others.
