Just wondering if anyone is ambitious enough that they are going to the Pro Solo in Mineral Wells, TX on Ap 21-22.
I'm trying to figure out if it is worth it to drive all that way just to get beat by the National Champ.

Mark, Sara & I are planning on going but I'm going to wait last minute to register. We're planning on camping and I'm gonna keep a close eye on the forecast before I register. If there calling for rain I know we're out. I'm pretty sure Stan's going too.

I'm going unless the car isn't up to it. Looking like it will be ok. I might even take a different car if there's a mustang problem. I have some stuff to fetch from Madarash for me and Opie.

I have a reservation at mineral wells state park where we stayed last year, that will take up to 20, so plenty of room if you can stand the company

I saw the park on-line. Which campsite? I think I'm in if all goes well. I can't pass up a good campout with friends and a little racing thrown in.

i checked the reservation, it's a "water-only equestrian" campsite, ie we may have horses for company. and we're only allowed 8 combined people plus horse, not 20 as i'd previously claimed. can't believe anything i say.

in any case, the res does not name which campsite specifically. i think there's more than one equestrian area. justin and i stayed in one last year, w/no horses to be seen anywhere. not that i mind sleeping among horses.

there will be shower nearby, and water, but no electricity. probably will be accessible wifi.

Results...comments welcome!

An eyesight testing search of the Mineral Wells (TX) PRO SOLO Results - see for yourself at http://www.scca.com/solo/content.cfm?cid=51016 - revealed....

In E Street Prepared...Mark Maradash/Firebird TransAm won at 89.242 sec. (44.767 & 44.475) while Mark Foley/Firebird finished Third (and trophied) at 90.733 (45.866 & 44.867) with Justin Huffman/Mustang GT Fifth at 93.999 (46.945 & 47.054.)

In Street Modified...Eric Hyman/Nissan GTR won with a 88.506 (44.944 & 43.562) while Stan Bell/new Mustang came in Third at 95.716 (47.746 & 47.346.)

In Ladies Class 1...Sara Huffman/Mustang GT finished Eighth (but not last) with best runs (I think) of 49.669 & 48.508. Apparently, the final class results were based on an index because those times don't add up to Sara's final tally.
