Tombstone Rally 10/26/2019

Post by SilverYota » Wed Oct 09, 2019 11:50 am

Please join us Saturday 10/26/19! An OMR SCCA tradition for well over 30 years, the Hunt for the Stone, Tombstone Rally and social get together. Rallymaster Gregg McNabb has put together a very nice drive for everyone to enjoy. Dinner will be Doe's Eat Place located just south of Gene's Gallery.

The Rally and Social event are open to OMRSCCA members, OMR participants, and any guest they would like to invite or bring along. There is no cost to participate although Rally and Social attendees will be ask to sign the standard SCCA liability waiver and Temporary Membership paperwork as appropriate. Those able will have the opportunity to make a contribution to offset food cost at the Social.

Rallyists will need to arrive prior to 1:30 pm at the start location…………

Start: Gene's Gallery 945 N Glenstone Ave, Springfield, MO 65802

First car will leave at 2:00pm with others following shortly thereafter.

A “gimmick” Rally, you will be ask to follow simple driving instructions on urban and rural roads, answering questions and recording your observations along the way. There will be a mileage related tie breaker so those serious about winning will want to have a working odometer. There are no dirt or gravel roads so drive whatever you are most comfortable in, or want to show off. This is NOT a speed event.

Rally will end and social will take place at back at the starting point, Gene's Gallery (417) 831-6592

Cars are expected to arrive between 3pm and 5pm with food served sometime in the 5-6:00pm timeframe. Sunset in Springfield will be at ~6:20.

If you cannot participate in the Rally please join us for food and fun at the Social. Those who choose not to run the Rally and just show up for the food and camaraderie, should of course expect some teasing from those who did run the course. Children are welcome.

Many thanks to Rally Director Gregg McNabb for designing and hosting this year's Tombstone Rally
