I'm going to make the motion to the board that the solo2 schedule be the second week of ever month.

I've been looking at the other regions schedules that are avalabe, and noting there past schedules... I think we need to just pick the second week and ignore the other regions, dancing around other schedules does nothing but make life harder for us! what could be done next year is get with stl and kc and ask them all to get synced up. not that anyone would ever come to a agreement without high tech spy planes and threats of nuclear war.....

anyone seen any of the divisional dates? I think I remember there are not going to be any of significance locally anyway?


on a side note, I need volunteers as to who is going to chair these events. I'll need a volunteer 6 weeks before each even set it stone. I'm not going to do all the paperwork in advanced for these events like I normally do. I'll fill out the paperwork as I get a person to volunteer to chair. if I dont get a person to chair. I'll not put in the paperwork and we will be minus a event.

that said how many events should we do? last year we did 6. I think we should have the member support to do 8.
first event is march 9. not going to do a test and tune this year. full points event for *every* event we do.

I currently expect to attend plenty of the events. but I do not expect to have 100% attendance this year. so You, the person reading this. need to raise your hand and say you will do one event. one event wont kill you, although it might make you never want to run another event ever again lol

I heard rumors of a double header weekend for the first run with TnT on Sat. and 1st Event on Sunday so the SSS students could get their mandatory 2 autoxs in.


I will agree with the "one event wont kill you, although it might make you never want to run another event ever again lol". I think Mother Nature proved to me that I am not to try to run any events.

April 19-20 - Kansas City
May 25-26 - St. Louis
June 21-22 - Salina
Aug 2-3 - Topeka

Here's what April is already looking like - two big events for locals.

April 12-13 - ProSolo, Newport, AR
April 19-20 - Divisional, Kansas City

The second weekend in April would be on top of the only ProSolo near here other than the Finale in Topeka. The following weekend is a big divisional on a similar surface to Heartland Park, and the same site as a Tour in August.

April 6th would be a better date for an OMR Solo. Good seat time early in the year and practice for anyone racing either of the following two weekends.

Some other bumps:
- The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day
- The second Sunday in June is Father's Day
- The second Sunday in September is the ProSolo finale / day before Solo2 Nationals (it's early this year)
- The second Sunday in October is Runoffs

Family holidays and upper-level autocrosses can be attendance-killers (aka income-killers), and sometimes take regulars (volunteers) out of the picture. How about a schedule that runs like this?

March 9
April 6
May 18
June 8
July 13
August 24 (early August is hot!)
September 7 or 28
October 5 or 19

Because this only adds up to 6... notice the 5 is missing. I was looking back at the results and only found results for 5.

we only had 6 points events. #5 was voted to be non-points

May 11th ( I know it's Mothers Day) instead of May 18th.

May 16-18 is a big Corvette event at Texas motor speeedway with road racing, autocrossing & lapping on the big Nascar oval track. I know of 4-6 Corvettes from OMR and possibly some from Joplin, that are planning to attend this year's event and would miss the OMR event on the 18th.

Just my 2 cents worth.

lets skip mothers day, last year I had requests not to do events on easter, mothers day fathers day ect.

I'm open for d-headers. however not in the fall or summer. if we do doubles I would like them in the spring. for a simple reason. by the time fall comes the hard core workers start to get burnt out working the events. the spring the drive is fresh again and a d-header would be good. but lets say.... from July on its to hot and stressful.


on a side note..... and this is stupid of me to be talking about because I have way to much on my plate atm..... but I'm interested in putting on a street smart survival class for new drivers. its a program by the scca aimed at beginner drivers. anyone been keeping up with the program? I think it would be a great recruitment tool to get fresh blood into the club while giving back to the community we pollute with our "noise" hehe
it would be a class requiring quite a few numbers to give time and labor with nothing in return. I'm honestly not sure we have the people to staff a event like it. but I'm willing to give it a try! would make for a great Saturday school then the next day have a autocross.

You might want to contact the Ozark & Nixa high school's driver's education program for the beginner drivers. Maybe they could incorportate us into their programs. Back in the day, when it rained or snowed we were taught how to manuever the car in skids, etc. It might be used as an extra credit or bonus point for the class.

Well I hope people listen to your guys' suggestions because I have been suggesting this very thing for 3 years now with nothing but excuses of why it won't work and no one willing to try.

hehe what can I say. I'm slowly loosing my mind and its starting to look like a good idea finally lol
