Can anyone step up and do the course the design for October 12th?
By October 12th, I think I will have autocrossed every weekend continuously since, say, July.
I think this is a chance for someone to unleash their creativity on Ducks. That someone could be you.

Heh, I may have to rephrase. If everyone wants a course on Sunday, someone other than myself (or Bud) will have to do it.
The Miata's clutch MC quit on Thursday, I've autocrossed for the last seven weeks in a row (maybe more, I lost count), and I have to go to work on Sunday. Odds aren't good for seeing me.
With Bobby, myself, and possibly Bud gone, we need to also verify SSS.

Don Peak and I hereby volunteer to design the course. We'll go over to the stadium on Saturday afternoon and figure it out to compensate for our lack of experience.
Jim, please send me any pointers you can think off (i.e. required distance from obstacles, typical slalom cone spacing, etc).

Download the Solo Course Design Manual by Roger Johnson:

It's everything you need to know in one PDF.
The back section of Ducks is a minefield. We can't go fast back there anymore. Your choices of design are kind of limited, anyway.
I didn't stick around for last time. I heard it was pretty conetensive. Making that course readable and safe in two different directions was a bear.
Basically, keep cars a safe distance from obstacles and turning away from them, and keep an even flow at moderate speed. If anyone aches over it, they can show up earlier and help.
