2009 SCCA Midwest Division Convention 3/6-3/8

Post by JimR » Wed Feb 25, 2009 9:50 pm

Everyone,

OMRSCCA is a part of the Midwest division, and the annual divisional convention is approaching. A few of us locals will be there representing OMR, and it's a key year, as we are hosting a divisional autocross in July. If anyone would like to go, the convention will have a slate of seminars, activities, and face time with racers and crew from OMR and its neighbors.

Four board members - Curtis, Bud, Matt, and myself - attended the convention, and I think our presence left a positive impression on the group at large. Donna Hill was nice enough to single out OMR's efforts in the town hall session (the big meeting with all attendees, including the SCCA president, National staffers, and MiDiv board).

A number of people approached us to offer their help with our divisional. This, on the heels of last week's board/membership meeting, the best-attended of any I've seen in the last few years.

This goes to show that anyone who volunteers a little extra help this year will have an impact. More eyes are on us this season, and I'm confident that we can deliver quality events.
