OMR website

Post by magilson » Wed Dec 05, 2007 8:38 am

Last night I made a full copy of the site onto a backup folder on my computer. I'm going to work with the current template to integrate the following ideas that were discussed last night.

- Posting the OMR Meeting Minutes
- Developing a single, more accurate calendar
- Listing the member of the "Autocross Committee" as well as the OMR SCCA 2008 Board of Directors including contact information.

Any other input is welcome!

Ben doesn't respond to communications and didn't show up to the board meeting. That's kinda gonna be important if that's the job he want's to take on... Tell him to get a hold of me.

I am glad someone with m4d sk1Llz is taking on the job. I have fair color and Photoshop ability, but I am not so technically robust. Apparently, HTML and tables stopped being cool a decade ago.

If anyone wants to take a trip down memory lane, here was the inspiration for the current scheme:

I thought a site with "Ozark" in the name needed to be rustic and earthy.

With your skills, we could totally win the best website award for our size at the SCCA convention. 8)

I still have not received the meeting minutes from any of the more recent board meetings. I have a page ready to upload with the minutes. and I will start doing so.

I have updated two of the three current locations that contain event information. In the case of the SCCA overall schedule it's going to take me a bit yet.

I have made a page talking about the autocross committee but I'm not sure what kind of contact information you'd like to see. I don't really plan to give out my cell number or email for all the internet to see but we can figure something out. I don't have any of the contact information for the current board and I don't even remember all of their names. Can someone send that to me?

In any case I have not heard or seen anything from Ben. Where are you! :)

I'm around, I'm currently a very busy man, I am making progress on the website, but I currently wouldn't anticipate the site being up for the first event (the non-points one).

web registration seems sooo easy.
but so hard... lol

I can do it the easy way for now, make a forum that emails me a text file. then I import it into the software.

the end goal would be to have a form that would submit the data into a sql database then a page on the site that you can view the current registrations, plus I could then import one file Saturday night before the event instead of 1 file per registration.

however importing a file is so easy that it will still save us time.

I spent some more time on the front end tonight. I still haven't gotten through correcting all the links on the Solo2 Results page but I'll get there eventually.

I added a local reference to the Solo2 Rules as well as other references to those rules in the Novice Guide. The link to the 2008 PAX values was corrected along with the original PAX example.

Hopefully this will add clarity to the current rules for classification as well more accurate content on the OMR website.
