OMR SCCA hosting RallyX at Mokan 8/1/10

It's official!

The Ozark Mountain Region of the SCCA is hosting it's first rallycross at MoKan dragway, just north of Joplin, Missouri.

Rally cross is just driving on a course in dirt - that's it! Bring out whatever car you have, FWD, RWD, AWD, N/A, Turbo, anything will do! Prepare to get dirty

Location: Spectator area at Mokan Dragway

Everyone get ready!! Please let's have a great first event, we need about 30 participants if this is going to be a continuing event. You don't need a AWD car to drive, any old hoopty will do. This would be a great time to borrow your girlfriend's/parent's/uncle's/friend's car to show it a good time

Spreading the word would be greatly appreciated. Online registration is not set up yet, stay tuned for details on when sign-ups will be ready.

Any word on this? Snopes doesn't have an answer.

Not "official," but we are heading that direction. Positive conversations with our friends at Mo-Kan Dragway have allowed the opportunity to come together quickly.

We're looking to work details and board approval at the meeting on Tuesday, July 6th.

Pencil in your calendars for Sunday, August 1, and encourage everyone to stay tuned to OMRSCCA.org. Hopefully we'll have board approval and an official announcement in just a few days.

Sorry for the poor wording. It's not official, but rather I'd heard it from an 'official.'

I'm actually seeing some decent interest from people. I know we have some people from St.Louis, Springfield MO, Oklahoma, and possibly Nebraska interested in going, as well as many from Northwest Arkansas.

The date was a month away, I figured telling people as soon as we knew the date would help with people's schedules, etc.
