Wanted: RallyCross Safety Steward candidates!

Post by JimR » Tue Jul 13, 2010 8:47 am

Would you like to see RallyCross events in this neck of the woods? We can't hold them in the future without RallyCross Safety Stewards (RXSS), and we have none nearby. We need your help to change that.

RXSS certification is basically:
1. Classroom session
2. Serve as an apprentice RXSS at an event
3. Act as the primary RXSS for another event under the supervision of an existing RXSS

Your classroom training is waived if you have already taken a SSS training class or have a current SSS certification. Obviously, any candidate needs to be a SCCA member, and have an interest in attending RallyCrosses and possibly traveling out of region to another RallyCross event.

Jerry Doctor, the MiDiv Rally Steward, will be coming down from Nebraska on the Saturday before the RallyCross at Mo-Kan. If you would like to take the training class, we can arrange it on Saturday, 7/31. We can also get your apprenticeship at one event under your belt on Sunday, 8/1. I am the event chair for the 8/1 rally, and I may entertain scenarios where an additional person in each heat is acting as RXSS apprentice. Not a bad work assignment if you ask me!

Let me know if you can help. 8)

I am definitely interested, I'm worried about scheduling conflicts as I'll be at Uni for another semester.

I just got my year SCCA membership today if that helps :D
