Minutes of the Ozark Mountain Region SCCA BOD meeting of 12/7/10. Members present: RE Curtis Wood, Jeff Moore, Jim Rowland, Sara Huffman, Bud Weeks, and Matt Longpine, plus four other OMR members. First order of business: counting of the ballots from the BOD election by two carryover members, Matt and Sara. There will be four members elected this election. Call to order by Curtis. Presentation of election results: the next BOD members elected for two year terms are Sam Henry, Jim Rowland, Bud Weeks, and Curtis Wood. Motion to approve election results by Curtis, second by Jeff. Passed. Discussion of wisdom of having more than seven members on the BOD. Region bylaws would have to be changed, and it would not work to have an even number of members so that tie votes were possible. No action taken. Discussion of autocross committee. Consensus is that it is working very well, although there is some concern that if someone is not available for an event, that getting the essential tasks done will place additional burden on the other members of the committee. The solo chairman will work to assign course building duties to others who are willing. Discussion of having a solo committee work day on timing and course set-up staffing. Discussion of addressing roles of the various BOD members in the Jan. BOD meeting. Also, annual awards will be determined next meeting. Discussion of having some recognition for those people who helped begin the OMR rallycross program during 2010. Treasurer's report: given by Jeff, although it is not known if there are any outstanding unpaid bills since Sam is absent. Motion to approve Treasurer's report by Matt, second by Curtis. Passed. Discussion of solo and rallycross schedule for 2011. Discussion of having 7 autocrosses and 3 rallycrosses during the year, which will be the limit of events the region can do comfortably. It is planned that all autocrosses will be held at Crowder Truck Driving School. Rallycross sites to be determined although it is hoped that the Mo-Kan site and Clever site can be used again. Discussion of OMR wanting to host a divisional again in 2011. Motion to make a bid for a Midiv event by Jeff, second by Matt. Passed. Discussion of OMR calendar and dates for OMR autocrosses and rallycrosses. The proposed OMR calendar is as follows: OMR award banquet: Jan. 29 Midiv convention in Springfield: March 4-6 Evo school: April 2-3 Autocross: April 10 Midiv: May 14-15 Autocross: June 26 Autocross: July 10 Autocross: Aug. ? (Date to be determined but could be Aug. 14) Autocross: Sept. 11 Autocross: Oct. 2 In addition, it is proposed that rallycrosses could be held in March, during the summer, and in November. Motion to accept the schedules as determined so far by Bud, second by Curtis. Passed. Jim to contact Jared about getting these dates on Crowder's schedule. Discussion of Street Survival School possibility. Jared Starks runs a similar program at Crowder College and gets his referrals from Missouri DOT, so that it may not be possible to stage an event in SW Missouri. Running an event out of state is apparently not a problem to Jared, although the value to the region is questionable. Bud will continue to gather information. Discussion of awards for solo class winners. Past awards have been chairs, shirts, jackets, pictures, and trophies. After much discussion a majority of those in attendence were in favor of umbrellas. Go figure. Motion to award umbrellas to solo class winners by Jeff, second by Bud. Passed. Motion to adjourn by Curtis, second by Jeff. Passed. Submitted by Bud Weeks, OMR BOD Secretary.
