Minutes of the Ozark Mountain Region SCCA BOD meeting of May 1, 2012.  Members present: RE Curtis Wood, Jeff Moore, Sam Henry, Tim Datema, Justin Huffman, Bud Weeks, Matt Longpine, and 6 OMR members.
 
Call to order: Curtis.
 
Secretary's report: Motion to waive the reading of the minutes and to accept as written by Curtis, second by Jeff.  Passed.
 
Treasurer's report: all bill paid except to reimburse Jim Rowland for his work on the rallycross timing triggers.
Motion to accept report by Matt, second by Justin.  Passed.
 
Autocross report:  Justin reports that a good inventory will be taken at next autocross of supplies for the rest of the season.  Flour for line marking will be needed for next autocross.  Justin, Tim, and others will design the course.  Ducks restrooms are now open.
 
New business discussion: SCCA national is instituting three new Solo stock classes for cars with road tires; RTR, RTF, and RTA, (rear drive, front drive, and all-wheel drive), with corresponding Ladies classes.  These classes will be run at all National Solo Tours, Pro Solos, and the National Championship events in 2012.  Discussion centered around whether it would benefit OMR members and/or attract new members.  There was also a question about whether the timing software will allow for three classes where the trophy winners are decided by the PAX of their respective stock class.  If an update of timing software is needed, it could have some cost.  Matt will check this out.
 
Discussion of the overall issue of how to attract new members.  A mentoring system that would count as a worker assignment could be put in place.  Also discussed was how best to promote OMR events including the possibility of getting a big banner to be used at events with OMR's web address.
