Hello everyone! It's been a while since I attended an event (invited by Erik back in the day). Which is embarrassing as I live 3 minutes away from Duck Stadium.

I was there half of the day Sunday to spectate.
My car is finally back on the road. It's not exactly setup for an auto-x, but I definitely hope to embarrass myself at the July event.
Here are a few images from back in the day when a few of my fellow club members and myself came and got paddled by most of you. We had a blast!

Hope to see you out there. Will you be racing ESP? If so, you are in for some intense competition. Had I known what I know now, I would have probably bought a different car. LOL.

ESP?
Still not 100% if I'll be in the Mustang or the Focus. The Focus might actually run better through the cones. Hopefully before the year is out I can try both.

Howdy,
I just now saw your post. Always nice to have another Mustang guy around. I've autocrossed four of them over a period of time. First was a '67 GT that I got thoroughly embarrassed in. Only autocrossed it once, and that was years ago. Then I owned a '66 GT350 for a long time and I autocrossed it a lot. I had an '89 5.0LX that went pretty well. Now I have an '04 Mach 1 and I like it as well as any car I've ever had. Your '94 can go plenty fast. I'd be happy to talk with you about it if you ever want to.

Hey Bud,
Do you drive the Orange Mach 1? If so, you were FLYING at the last event.
I'm hoping to get a few things fixed on my car by the July 20th event.

Either way I plan to run, even if it's in the Focus.

Be sure to remember there are other classes to relearn in before stepping into the ESP warzone. If you are still running street tires I would suggest looks back at STX if your car is legal for the class.
The guys in HS are moving pretty good too but I am sure they would welcome another Focus.

Good thing I'm not going there to compete. I'm going to practice/learn.

I'll be the first to admit, you can give me the greatest car on the planet, I still won't beat any of you guys.
I'm a straight line racer. We only turn the wheel to keep the rear behind us.

Paul,
Yup, that was my orange Mach 1 you saw. I started out in drag racing too, and it still has a certain appeal to me. However, once I started autocrossing I learned how much more important the driver is to how fast you go. You have to have a good car with good tires too, but the driver is certainly over 50% of the mix. It makes things so much more interesting. Glad to have you come out.

That's why I can't get enough of Pro Solo. It has the best of both.
I'll drive halfway across the country (and would have this weekend if it weren't for school) for a Pro, but I actually have to think about going to a Tour only a few hours away.

We watched him run at the last event. It didn't take long to figure out he knew what he was doing.

Looks like it'll be the 100% stock ZX3 Focus on Sunday for me. I didn't have a chance to rip the axles out of the Mustang yet.
See everyone Sunday morning.

I had a blast guys!

I really need to calm down a bit on the course. It was like my first trip to the drag strip all over again.

Butterflies and all.
I've got SOOO much to learn it's not even funny. Well, maybe it is a little.

I had fun, and my passengers had a blast. I'm a little embarrassed about the three DNFs. I had no idea my 2nd run was a DNF until today looking at the results.

I knew I missed a gate on the following pass. Then I tried a little too hard and spun the next one. (not used to the backend coming around on a FWD car.)
I rode along in the Blue SVT Focus, I don't recall if it was Nick or Forrest on the results page. That was an amazing ride. I was trying hard to watch every thing he did.... I forgot where my arm was.

That was me with my arm out the window. SORRY!

that would be Forest. Resident O.G.

I was very impressed with everyone I met at the event. Bud and I were able to talk for a while. The guys from my club had a terrific time.
We learned if we wanted to ride along with each other, AND get better pics we should split our selves up a little in the group.
This is one of my favorite pics posted so far.

Bobby was a little hot in the last big corner.
Look at my body roll.
